Metro Parks Tacoma will celebrate the grand opening of a new playfield at the South End Recreation & Adventure (SERA) Campus.

According to Metro Parks Tacoma, the $3.3 million all-weather field was paid for using bond funds approved by voters in 2014, as well as generous donors.

The grand opening celebration will be held at 1 p.m. on Sat., March 5, at the SERA Campus, located at 6002 S. Adams St., in Tacoma. The event will include appearances by members of the Tacoma Stars soccer team, as well as giveaways and activities on and off the field.
