City Manager Eric Anderson announced Friday that Michael P. Slevin III, P.E., will be the interim Public Works director. The nationwide recruitment process to fill the position permanently will soon be under way.
Slevin has worked for the City in various capacities since 1995. He most recently served as the acting City engineer and the Facilities Management division manager. His recent projects include the South Park Plaza Parking Garage redevelopment and potential transfer of the Tacoma Narrows Airport to Pierce County. He also worked as the project engineer on the Greater Tacoma Convention and Trade Center.
Additionally, James Parvey, P.E., has been appointed interim assistant Public Works director, City engineer, and Dan Thompson will continue as the interim assistant Public Works director of Environmental Services.
