A change in work plans means crews will close the southbound I-5 mainline near Nalley Valley overnight. Southbound traffic will be diverted off I-5 to the 38th Street collector-distributor lanes and then back to I-5 using the 38th Street on-ramp.
Work hours are 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Motorists can expect delays.
The closure allows crews to stage materials and equipment, and set up barrier-protected work areas for the I-5/SR 16 Westbound Nalley Valley interchange project.
Previously, crews were scheduled to close I-5 on-ramps from SR 7 and Pacific Avenue and the off-ramps to 38th Street and westbound SR 16. Those ramps remain open tonight.
