Students enrolled in Tacoma Public Schools, who are in the 9th-12th grades, are encouraged to apply to participate in Student Government Day. The application deadline is Oct. 20 for event which will take place on Nov. 1.

“This is an opportunity for students to get an inside look at local government and interact with their Mayor, Council Members and City of Tacoma staff members,” said Mayor Marilyn Strickland. “Ideally, they will learn about the varied functions of government, explore how we make policy decisions and become civically engaged in issues that interest them.”
