Washington’s 2004 presidential primary will be held March 2, the “Super Tuesday” date when voting will also take place in California, New York and Ohio.

Secretary of State Sam Reed, the state’s chief elections officer, and party leaders announced the date Tuesday, expressing the hope Washington will cash in on media attention surrounding the biggest single primary date on the election calendar.
