The Tacoma Daily Index often publishes the City of Tacoma’s calls for bids asking contractors to meet the City’s needs on a range of supplies, services, and projects. Here is a short-list of some recent and notable calls for bids issued from Tacoma City Hall.
First, the City is accepting bids from contractors who can provide nuisance property abatement services on public and private property throughout Tacoma, according to a legal notice published this week in the Tacoma Daily Index. Last year, approximately 70 properties were targets of abatement in order to protect public health, safety, and welfare, according to bid documents prepared by City staff. A majority of the abatement work was performed on private property or the portion of the abutting right-of-way where the property owner is responsible. Abatement work involves the collection and removal of various types of litter and debris; cutting, collection, and removal of various types of overgrown vegetation; tree and shrubbery cutting and removal; small accessory structure demolition and removal; graffiti removal on public and private property; and minor fence repairs. The contract is valued at approximately $200,000. The bid deadline expires at 11 a.m. on Tues., April 14. A one-year contract is expected to be awarded in May. The project budget is estimated at $560,000. The bid deadline expires at 11 a.m. on Tues., April 7. A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Thurs., March 26, at Tacoma City Hall.
