Tacoma could raise fees for business licenses, false alarms, traffic violations

Tacoma City Council is scheduled Dec. 13 to hear the final reading of three ordinances that would amend the municipal code to increase fees for business licenses, implement admission taxes, raise false alarm fees and raise traffic safety camera fines. If approved, ordinance 28043 would amend the municipal code to increase the annual business license fee from $80 to $90 and add a reduced annual business fee of $25 for businesses with an annual gross income of less than $12,000. If approved, ordinance 28045 would amend the municipal code to increase the false alarm service fee from $60 to $100. If approved, ordinance 28046 would amend the municipal code to increase the penalty for infractions issued by an automated traffic safety camera from $101 to $124.
