The non-profit community of South Puget Sound has honored Tacoma Goodwills Board of Directors with a Jane T. Russell Excellence in Governance Award.
The agencys 21 member board, comprised of business and community leaders, is being recognized for its best practices in organizational planning, monitoring the organizations programs and services, ensuring adequate resources and enhancing the organizations public image.
The prestigious award was presented by Sarah Russell Cavanaugh (The Russell Family Foundation) at the Nonprofit Centers Annual All About Boards Conference on Friday, Nov. 14.
The award has been named in honor of Jane T. Russell of Tacoma (1934-2002). Russell was highly committed to the development of leadership in the nonprofit sector and served for a number of years on the board of directors of Board Source (formerly the National Center for Nonprofit Boards).
