The Tacoma Historical Society will host a ceremony on Nov. 11 in observance of Veteran’s Day. The event will take place at War Memorial Park at 6th Avenue and MacArthur Street (near the Narrows Bridges), beginning at 2 p.m. Veterans in attendance will be recognized. Col. (Ret) Isabelle J. Swartz will speak, honoring several local veterans, including Medal of Honor recipient Private Wilburn K. Ross and others who served in various theaters of World War II. American Legion 138 Dough Boys Unit will serve as color guard, and Stadium High School’s Admiral James Russell Navy JROTC will be in attendance.
