Tacoma illustrators award annual student scholarship

Tacoma-based Cartoonist’s League of Absurd Washingtonians (C.L.A.W.) recently announced it has awarded this year’s Young Cartoonist of the Future scholarship to Kenzy Sorenson.

Since it was introduced in 2009, the scholarship program has awarded nearly $4,500 to six students enrolled in an educational institution and aspiring to be a cartoonist or illustrator.

In 2009, the organization awarded $100 to Adam M. Botsford. In 2010, the organization awarded $370 to Amelia DavisIn 2011, the organization awarded $908.24 to Kayla Nicole Cline. In 2012, the organization awarded $792.07 to Michael Johnson. Last year, the organization awarded $1,059.10 to Melanie Anne Eggleston. Finally, this year, the organization awarded $1,223 to Sorenson.
