The Tacoma Rainiers Triple-A baseball team announced today it will kick-off its 50th season of baseball at Cheney Stadium with a preseason party for fans Sat., March 28, from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission is free, and attendees may enjoy the following:
— If you dont have a season ticket or affordable family plan yet, this is your chance to pick out your seats for this season, on the spot;
— Get your seats early for Friday Night Fireworks games, Opening Night or the July 3rd Fireworks Extravaganza;
— Eat free hot dogs, drink free soda;
— Season ticket holders will be able to pick up their 2009 ticket packages;
— Take a tour and get an exclusive inside look at Cheney Stadium;
— Kids can have their faces painted, get their favorite balloon animal and jump around on a “bounce house” for free;

This season will mark the 15th season the Rainiers have been the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. Cheney Stadium, celebrating its 50th season, is the Rainiers home stadium. The Rainiers are owned by the Schlegel Sports Group. This past season, 21 Rainiers players also played for the Seattle Mariners. The team won the 2005 PCL Pacific Conference Championship.
