Celebrate Thun Field’s 65th anniversary on Fri., Sept. 18 with live entertainment, refreshments, historical displays and antique aircraft. The free open house will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pierce County Regional Airport, located at 16715 Meridian E. St. in Puyallup. A new memorial to airport founder John Thun Sr. will be dedicated at 10:30 a.m. The 200-acre airport was built in 1944 and purchased by Pierce County in 1979.
