University Place hosts Parks Appreciation Day April 23

Volunteers are urged to dress in grubby clothes, bring gloves and be ready to work on April 23, otherwise known as Parks Appreciation Day in University Place. City staff will be on hand at both Cirque Park (located at the corner of Cirque Drive West and Bridgeport Way West) and the Adriana Hess Wetland Park (located at 2917 Morrison Road – just south of 27th Street West) to direct volunteers to projects as needed. Work will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon.

Parks Appreciation Day celebrates Earth Day, Arbor Day, National Parks Week, and our local parks with a day of stewardship and teamwork. Last year more than 1,600 people gathered in 32 parks throughout Pierce County for the third annual Parks Appreciation Day to clean up the parks for spring.
