UW Tacoma’s KeyBank Professional Development Center will h ost an information meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 29 about certificate programs for professionals seeking to update their skills to keep up with changing technology.
The Technology Certificate programs consist of six nine-month workshops in data management systems, C++ programming, information and systems technology, management in the technology sector and computer forensics. The programs are co-sponsored by the UWT Institute of Technology and taught by expert practitioners.
The information meeting will be held in the Tacoma Room (GWP 320) on the third floor of the Garretson Woodruff Pratt building, at the corner of South 19th Street and Pacific Avenue.
“Each of these topical areas is critical to government and industry at a time when the technology landscape is evolving faster than ever,” said Lawrence Peters, program manager of technology programs at the Professional Development Center. “Computer professionals who do not expand their skills on a continuous basis will rapidly fall behind and find it difficult to get or keep a job. These programs provide the opportunity to remain current in their field.”
The KeyBank Professional Development Center at UW Tacoma offers a wide range of continuing education courses, seminars and workshops for public-and private-sector professionals and groups. The Center is made possible at UWT by a generous gift from KeyBank and the Dimmer Family Foundation.
