The City Council appointed Lauren Walker to At-Large Position No. 6 during the Tuesday, Jan. 24 City Council Meeting.

“We are choosing a candidate that was one of the most qualified,” said Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland. “Lauren Walker is steady, a good communicator and knows this community, all important skills to have while serving on City Council. She was part of my top three applicants but is clearly my number one choice.”

The City Council meets every Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Tacoma Municipal Building Council Chambers (747 Market St., first floor). In addition, study sessions are held every Tuesday at noon in Tacoma Municipal Building North (733 Market St., Room 16).

Effective Jan. 1, 2017, Council Members receive an annual salary of $46,013.92.
