Wash. report shows economic impact of $45M public infrastructure projects

Positive economic impact from $45 million in Washington State investments in public infrastructure projects made over the past five years is showcased in the 2010 biennial report from the Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB), now available online from the Department of Commerce Web site at http://www.commerce.wa.gov/cerb .

The report shows the state realized more than 4,800 permanent full-time jobs from CERB projects completed between July 2005 and December 2009, or about one permanent position for every $9,367 the state invested. In addition, over 7,200 construction jobs resulted from construction of public and private facilities as a result of the CERB investments. During this five-year period, the private sector invested more than $2.9 billion in private facilities made possible by the CERB-funded infrastructure improvements.
