Long-time Washington D.C. power-broker and deal-maker Joseph S. Miller will visit the University of Washington Tacoma Nov. 3 to discuss his new book, “The Wicked Wine of Democracy: A Memoir of a Political Junkie 1948-1995.” A political operative and practicing lobbyist, Miller went from being a journalist in Seattle in the early 1950s to working on the campaigns of such political figures as Warren G. Magnuson, Henry “Scoop” Jackson, Frank Church, William Proxmire and John F. Kennedy.
Now retired and living in Washington, D.C., Miller also wrote and edited for the Lewiston Morning Tribune, Boise Daily Statesman, Oregon Journal and Seattle Post-Intelligencer before beginning his career as a media consultant for political campaigns and a lobbyist for a variety of unions and associations.
The event will be held at the Carwein Auditorium lobby. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Register online at http://www.tacoma.washington.edu .
