The National Weather Service and the San Juan County Department of Emergency Management are sponsoring a weather spotter training class on Thursday Feb. 8 from 1:30 – 4:00 p.m. at the District 3 Fire Station on Mullis Street in Friday Harbor. There is currently a shortage of trained observers in the islands, and more are needed in order to help increase the accuracy of local forecasts.
