A woman who said Tacomas Police Chief David Brame raped her in the late-1980s filed a $2 million claim with the City of Tacoma, saying the city failed to properly investigate her complaint.
Sylvia Boskovich said Brame raped her during a dinner date at his home, 13 years before being promoted to chief. No charges were filed against him.
She said she learned about the citys conspiracy to obstruct justice in her case during an investigation that followed Brames fatal shooting of his estranged wife and himself.
She said the city did not engage in due process and violated her rights with the police departments internal investigation.
The city has 60 days to respond to Boskovichs claim before the case can go to court.
