WSA salary survey shows more competitive tech industry

The WSA, the state’s oldest and largest technology trade association, announced the availability of its annual Technology Industry Salary Survey. In its 14th edition and in collaboration with Milliman USA, this salary survey includes data on 110 industry-specific positions in Washington state and comes in a detailed results notebook with a searchable CD. The cost of the survey is $795 for WSA members and $1095 for non-members, with a $100 discount available to WSA members if purchased before Dec 31. To purchase the survey go to: www.salarysurveys.milliman.com.

Key findings of the salary survey include:
– Raises in 2004 are predicted to be higher than the previous two years, climbing from 2.2 percent to 3.3 percent in 2004.

– For cost containment measures, instead of resorting to layoffs, companies are employing such tactics as hiring freezes, increasing employee contributions to medical coverage, and salary freezes.

– Only 14 percent of the salary survey participants currently outsource technology positions.

The WSA Technology Industry Salary Survey is confidentially conducted and published by Milliman USA, Inc.
